[hot off the presses, this one, horrendous new clothes and all. wherever it is in the DR's apartment building that Lea's chosen to roost, that's where Isa's getting ~~yeeted~~ catapulted, quite literally. at least it had the decency to drop her outside the apartment, right? enjoy the distinct sound of someone colliding hard with the wall next to the door and crumpling into a groaning mess on the floor. there's sand on her shoes, and a familiar frisbee came with her, dropped a short distance from where she landed. knock knock, Lea.]

[she'll be fascinated, probably. also that looks toxic, Lea, why would you do that. Isa scans the shelf and then pulls a couple of bottles forward. one has a tiny but detailed watercolor of a forest on the label, in colors that are definitely wrong for a forest; the other has what looks like a child's drawing of a classic chimera.]

Both of these have me worried but also interested.

[ Relax, she put it back in favor of a different one. This one is a sparkling molten silver, as if champagne turned into metal. The label is hidden under her hand. ]

Sounds about right. You sure you want to try one after Halloween Town?

Yeah, it's fine. Now that I know bad stuff can happen, I can at least brace for it. Which one should I do?

[don't eat the mercury, Lea. :| ]

[ She's thinkin' about it. Show her the one that looks like straight lava and watch her drink that, I dare you. ]

[ She points to the forest. ]

[that just made me think of Lea seeing that image of the hot dogs cooking over a lava floe and "i lava good barbecue" and laughing for like ten years. anyway, bottoms up-- actually wait, she conscientiously removes her jacket first, because she likes it a lot and doesn't want it to get ripped or something from animal parts suddenly appearing. this turns out to be a really good idea, since when Isa opens the forest one and slams it back like a shot, the first thing that happens is that a pair of large, brightly-colored wings bursts from her back. they're quickly followed by matching feathery antennae poking up out of her hair, and a long curled tail. everything she's wearing now has rips in it. 8| ]

Ooooo.

[ Yeah that looks about right for something like this. Lea looks impressed, or possibly enraptured, and reaches up to touch the antennae. The wings are so pretty, wow. ]

[Isa twists around to try and see what happened on her back, but she can't control these new parts yet, so it doesn't work very well.]

What happened, what'd I get, besides stuff that ripped my clothes? Ah--

[she reaches up to touch the antennae too, because she felt that! this is weird.]

Really cool wings. Check 'em out, they're like a dragon. Fairy... butterfly. All of the above.

[ She's gonna walk a half-circle around her and...... poke the tail. ]

[she was about to try and grab one of the wings to hold it still, but she just got hot AND cold chills from the tail, so stop it. :( the tail itself curls up more tightly and then uncoils to try and thwap Lea.]

What-- quit it, at least let me get control of it first, if I can. You do one, you're supposed to be suffering with me here.

[ aaaa she dodges away from it, but she's laughing, and trying to hide the fact that she's laughing. She's never been able to do it well with Isa. ]

Fine. Pick one for me.

[grumblegrumble. Isa turns, carefully, and scans the shelf closest to her, near where she found the potion she drank. hm, not that one, definitely not that one... here we go. this one looks like it might be a mate to Isa's; same sort of watercolored style, but much more unsettling, with descending landscape features in absolutely the wrong order. ocean waves, clouds, trees. this could do literally anything.]

I have literally no idea what this could do.

[ Haven't had one of those in a while and all that. She uncorks it and takes a big swig of it, and then... nothing happens. At least first. Then Lea makes a weird face and reaches up to rub her eyes, and when she removes her hand they've gone solid black. Every part of them. ]

What the fuck.

[hm, don't like that very much. Isa still can't really feel her new body parts or where they are, but her tail's curled up tightly again.]

Can you see? Your eyes went totally black.

Yeah I see fine, everything just went black and white. Whoa—

[ She just dropped the potion bottle and caught it again, and the catching hand has sprouted three very thick tentacles. ]

[and Isa jumped back a bit, and only just managed to keep her wings from knocking the contents of like four shelves onto the floor.]

What the fuck.

[ And by sprouted I mean her hand is entirely tentacles, splitting off somewhere in the middle of her forearm. She doesn't look like she's bothered or in pain, just a little confused. The tentacles blend into red, with the suction-y parts a more faded tone. ]

...... if I touch you are you going to hit me.

[oh my god, why this. why are you like this, Lea.]

...not immediately, no. I'd at least wait until we're somewhere with room to get a good windup.

Oh good.

[ She looks to Isa, not that it's immediately apparent, and delicately uses her new tentacles to place the potion bottle back on a shelf before inching them toward Isa. There is plenty of time to tell her to stop or to otherwise smack them. Cut them off. Whatever. ]

[she's leaning away just slightly, but looks otherwise resigned to however weird this experience is going to be. spoilers: she has no idea how she'll react, but it'll be great.]

Why can you control them so well, I still can't even really feel what I got.

Dunno. It's kind of just like moving my normal hands.

[ She double checks to make sure her other arm is normal, and it is, before brushing the tentacles against Isa's hand. Let's hold hands, bff. ]

[you know that thing that characters in Ghibli movies do, where they get the full-body shiver and their shoulders hunch up, and their hair kind of stands on end for a second?]

That's-- hmm.

[she's warming up to it, though, and gets her fingers wrapped gently around one of the tentacles to see what it feels like. she looks a little thoughtful at first, but then her face starts going red, and she only has eyes for the floor. see what you did, Lea.]

[ Goddamn her black and white vision. Now she can't see Isa blushing. Is this how dogs feel or whatever? She's going to be an ass and wrap one of the tentacles around Isa's wrist, with the others going further up her arm. Maybe she'll go for her face or neck or whatever and see if Isa decks her. ]

How bad is it? Be honest.

[she's considering just leaving immediately, only not, because the problem is that it feels weird but in a really good way. she's tense, but not making any moves to pull away or anything.]

Uh. I'm not sure that bad is the right word.

[to be totally fair, Lea already having mentioned the tentacle room and exactly what it's for is just a garnish next to the fact that Isa's already got an enormous amount of sexual frustration built up. her mind probably would've gone where it currently is anyway.]

What is it, gross?

[ It's a couple wriggling tentacles thicker than her fingers, she's of the belief that Isa is disgusted and unsure of how to handle them at all. She's gonna keep harassing her by climbing them up her arm. ]

[oh my god are you fucking-- she always knew Lea was one of the more obtuse people in the universe at times, but this is like, Sora levels of obtuse. it is a little gross but that's part of the mixture of feelings she's getting. in the spirit of starting over and not ever doing what Saix would've done ever again, she still doesn't shut this entire thing down and lock it up where no one can see it.]

No, it's-- look, remember you mentioned that room earlier?

[maybe she'll finally wake up and this will have been the longest and weirdest dream ever.]
