[aight fam. this has been a good day so far; nice weather, probably some hanging out with friends for lunch, that sort of thing. so hopefully these two are nice and chill and madly in love with each other in preparation for a scheduled conflict (probably). they've established the fact that they need to discuss some unpleasant topics and clear the air about some things, and now's as good a time as any.

it's evening now, there's cheesy pasta on the kitchen table, and we're gonna sit down and talk about headcanons. put your butt in a chair, Lea.]

[what he'll probably do at this ridiculous hour is make a nice breakfast for Kai and their Riku, and then nap later. back into the house he goes with the fat bun.

when Lea arrives, Isa won't be there yet, but will be along momentarily.]

[ This is fine indeed. She's just going to sit on the couch and wait, consumed with anxiety. Maybe she'll play on her phone a little. ]

[here she is. she's actually feeling okayish now, and any discomfort Lea's been suffering is her own fault. <3 Isa seems about as well-rested as she ever is, especially compared to Lea right now, but is, notably, wearing an unfamiliar t-shirt that is much too big on her. like, it would probably be fairly loose on Axel, even.

she's not saying anything yet, and she's not going to fold her arms like she really wants to, but her expression is steely and closed-off, and one of the first things to leave Lea's mouth had better be approaching an apology, or Isa's turning right around and leaving again.]

[ Lea scrambles to sit up straight when she hears the door start to open, crossing her arms and then uncrossing them to press into the cushion, then stuffing them in her pockets and ultimately crossing them again. She doesn't look like she's recently cried anymore (although she kind of looks like she might start at the drop of a hat), but she does look like she hasn't had any sleep. She stares at Isa for a minute. The shirt isn't really even on her radar.

She inhales deeply, clearly getting prepared for a long speech, but— ]

— hey.

[ Don't cry don't cry don't cry. ]

[good, Lea deserves to have suffered at least a little bit. Isa's eyes narrow a bit, but then she takes a deep breath and lets it out as a sigh, and her face relaxes again.]

You look tired.

I had a latte.

[ It did not help, and now she's jittery on top of exhausted. At least she's still composed, at least outwardly. ]

You sleep?

Yes.

[she's not going to volunteer information until Lea asks, because she's well aware that she kind of made last night all about her, and that that was part of the problem. she's not going to do the same here, but also she's not the only one who fucked up.

Good.

[ At least one of them did. She would be worried about her even more than she already is, if it were the opposite. There's a little pause, and Lea's eyes are on the floor. ]

Sorry. About what I said last night.

["prove it"; "good, you should be"; "you'll have to do better than that".]

...thank you. I'm sorry too, not for anything I said, but for making it a fight when it didn't need to be.

[seems like Isa had a reality check overnight, interesting.]

You didn't really say anything worth apologizing for. I get it. Sorta.

[ She gets, at least a little, what Isa was going for and why you would at least want someone you care about to understand something important to you, anyway. Lea recognizes that she could have handled it a lot better, or at least a lot less emotionally. ]

I mean it, though. Sorry doesn't really cover it. I shouldn't have said that, and I didn't mean what I said anyway.

You did a little bit, or you wouldn't have said it.

[but she appreciates it. she finally moves from her spot by the door, crossing to the couch and sitting down within arm's reach of Lea, but not immediately next to her.]

I was upset.

[ She may have said the same thing if she was calm, however. Lea's looking a the floor again. Does the couch smell like burnt fabric or is it just her? ]

[the apartment smells a bit like a fire, yes. so far this is all a bit cathartic, that she managed to finally piss Lea off as much as Lea's ever pissed her off.]

Did you torch something after I left?

I screamed into a pillow so hard it burst into flames.

[ There are some remnants, tucked up beneath the couch and out of view. She doesn't really feel any better. She's happy and less anxious now that Isa's back, but she feels bad about how she reacted, and bad that it happened at all. ]

[catharsis, although Isa also feels bad about how things went. however: ]

I suppose I should be glad you didn't burn the building down. I um. Went berserk.

[if anything was going to make it happen post-recompletion, it makes sense that it would be Lea.]

[ Lea had her mouth open for a defense, because she only burns things a little bit, but it hangs open a little longer in shock. Then she's twisting sideways on the couch, reacting with surprise and concern and talking all at once. ]

You what? Are you okay? Did you get hurt?

I'm fine! Nothing a potion couldn't fix, since it seems like maybe I was trying to attack myself, with no other Hearts around.

[she ripped the shit out of the shirt she'd been wearing, and scratched herself up pretty good, but that was all. now she's turning pink, though, and avoiding looking at Lea.]

It's stupid and really ironic, but I did actually find a Xemnas. He stopped me.

[ Lea looks really upset when Isa says "attack myself", because really, that's her fault. She doesn't have Riku's guilt complex when it comes to her friends, but it's distressing to hear nonetheless. She does, however, go very still at the mention of Xemnas. Weirdly enough though, she relaxes a tiny bit at "he". ]

Oh...

[ Well now that she's embarrassed, fully aware of her own reaction, ]

That's... good, right? Did he snap you out of it?

[Isa relaxes visibly at the fact that Lea's not blowing up, even though really, there would be no reason to.]

Yeah. I was really out of it, so he took me back to his place and made sure I was okay, it was actually really sweet. I spent the night on his couch.

[he was a total bro about it, and seemed to almost be the male version of their Xemnas (read: a hot [no hetero] dumb idiot who somehow knew exactly what Isa needed at the time), and Isa knows damn well she can't allow herself to ramble about it because it'll just probably dredge up shit from last night.]

[ "Was he gay" Lea, don't ask that. She's thinking it, though, if nothing else attempted to happen. Not that she thinks Isa would be down for that, she's too gay. Probably? She does seem to have the dokis, at least a little bit, but Lea is surprisingly not worried about it. ]

Good. I'm glad he found you. After everything you told me, I don't think anyone else would've been able to help.

[ She's so confused though. ]

He was like, normal, right? Our kind of story.

[tbh a lot of the dokis are just from the immense weight that was lifted by having someone take care of her right after how angry she'd been. she's clearly still a little embarrassed that she even encountered a Xemnas and hung out, after what Lea said, but it's fine.]

I'm just glad there wasn't anyone else around, I never would've forgiven myself if I hurt someone here. And yeah, as normal as they ever are, he's from the point where you showed up to save Sora and then half of the new Organization faded out from the Round Room. He just ended up here instead, a couple of years ago. Still a Nobody, but I don't think that matters as much for Xemnases.

[took to the dressing room and living like a regular sort of person like a duck to water, apparently; dirty dishes in the sink, potted plant languishing in the bathroom window, etc. books everywhere, t-shirts and jeans, the works. it was very surreal.]

They're all full of shit anyway.

[ She seems to realize how that sounds after a short delay, and has the good graces to at least look flustered, scrambling to backtrack. ]

Not— That's not— I don't mean Xemnas, I mean Nobodies. All of 'em. All of us. Whatever. You know, you were there!

[ And yeah, having a Heart and feeling like a person again is different than what they were when they were Nobodies, but there was still something in there by the end. ]

[that actually makes Isa laugh a little, the quiet, understated one that she mostly had right after recompleting, like she's afraid someone might hear it. and she cautiously reaches for Lea's hand, because this feels okay again, to her.]

It's true, we were all full of shit for about ten years. And partial Hearts, toward the end.

[ Lea isn't sure whether to be happy she's laughing, or embarrassed from the context. She lets Isa take her hand, but rests her face in the other one, propped up on the back of the couch. She will never escape dweebhood. ]

That's what I'm saying. Anyway... what I said made you go berserk, or...

I was just so angry with you. That you weren't understanding why I was saying what I was saying, or that you would say something like that, no matter how upset you were.

[for context, the last time she was that furious with Lea OR Axel was when she received word that Axel had blown herself up to help Sora get into the castle.]
