[ Nah, she won't be following after her right now. To do so would just be to invite a major fight, and Lea at least recognizes that doing so, even in a state of hurt, wouldn't help anyone. She doesn't try to say anything before Isa leaves, either. Whether that's because she recognizes the need to separate and cool off or what is up for debate.

But, considering who this is, it won't take long for her to come around. This started in the evening. By midnight she's already feeling the itch of abandonment and needing to find her... friend-partner-girlfriend. This is baby's first major fight in an adult relationship, and she's being a little immature about it, so her first try is four unanswered phonecalls once it gets late enough, and a couple texts.

When that doesn't work, she tries to get some sleep, but the bed is too big suddenly, and she moves to the couch. After several more hours of tossing and turning, she heads out of the apartment and gets a coffee from a stand occupied by absolutely no one. Being both proactive and inexperienced with this sort of thing ~~and because I think it's more fun than a phonecall~~, she's going to check a place they go often first (a small cafe, perhaps) and then head to Axel and Kai's place. Maybe he knows where she is! And if he does, he'll definitely tell Lea when she shows up around 6:30am with no questions asked. Right? Right. Axel solidarity.

Something tells her she doesn't want Kai involved in this, though, so instead of knocking on the door she plants her ass on the sidewalk and starts blowing up Axel's phone with texts instead.

[all his spidey senses are good for here is alerting him that his phone is vibrating at ass o'clock in the morning, sorry. it'll be only a couple of minutes — he has to put some clothes on and slop some coffee in a mug — before Lea hears (or sees, depending on which way she's facing) the front door open. Axel comes yawning out, with Apricot at his heels. he'll just flop down to sit on the grass next to her. wassup?]

[ Sees. She would normally sit facing the road, but since she's on the hunt for Isa (and shhh she doesn't look like she was crying or like she hasn't slept), Lea is expectantly pointed toward the door. It's giving lost puppy vibes. She does eye the bun, because she doesn't trust animals that big even if she has definitely sunk her entire face into that fur at least once.

Anyway. Stay cool, Lea. Don't play your full hand at once or whatever Luxord use to go on about. Look at us chilling here with our mutual coffees and emotional dependencies. ]

You talked to Isa?

Nope.

[he takes a long drink of his coffee and then squints at her. he can tell that she and Isa were both very angry, that Lea is currently both depressed and anxious, and hasn't been in Isa's company in several hours. but he also knows Lea's weird sometimes about how he can tell all of that, so he is also playing it cool, likely with more success than Lea.]

Did something happen?

[Apricot took a quick roll in the grass and then made a beeline for Lea, because he knows when people need comfort.]

[ God fucking dammit. Lea thought they were close enough now that Isa would have at least bitched a little about her to Axel, which would have both possibly left someone with knowledge of where Isa might be, and saved Lea the humiliation of having to explain this to Axel. This is why she didn't go to Riku, dammit!!

Her jaw is tight but she's trying to play it off with a casual grin, though her eyes are on her own coffee, gripped a little too tight. ]

We had a fight last night and now she's not picking up the phone. She didn't say anything to you?

[he and Isa are friends, and meshed super well, but it's not like they talk every day or anything. Axel frowns a little, watching Apricot loaf himself next to Lea's knee.]

No, we haven't talked in a couple of days. She probably just needed time to cool down, depending on how bad the fight was.

[ Clearly Isa needs more friends for the inevitable spats they're going to have in the future, so Lea will have more options for tracking her down. For now she switches the coffee to one hand, so she can give Apricot a good petting. ]

I'd say... eight out of ten. Eight point five for the pillow I roasted after she left.

[ It's hard for her to calm down sometimes, especially when she's laying down and provided unhelpful imagery about Isa and Xemnas from her imagination. ]

Ouch. I can try and find her if you want, but it sounds like it might be better if you just wait it out. She doesn't deal with being upset the same way you do. Without prying into details, uh. Who started it?

[he gets it, Axels tend to be like that. also more friends wouldn't help, Isa still recovers best by isolating herself (after bottling it up finally fails).]

[ Everyone here just needs more friends. Lea isn't as close to everyone else as she'd like to be either, and she's still trying to fill the gap from the kiddos. She tilts her head to look up at the sky, nose scrunched up as she thinks. Technically Isa was the one talking, but Lea was the one reacting... ]

Man, who knows. She knows how to get under your skin. Especially mine. Especially when that's what she's going for. You weren't close to yours, right?

[ She looks back to Axel because she doesn't actually know beyond the whole "I was on my own" thing. ]

[Axel drains his coffee mug and sets it aside so he can lean back on his hands.]

Hoo boy was I not. And had no reason to be, he was pretty much just a psychotic bruiser. Possibly the least stable person I've ever known, maybe tied with my Xigbar, and that's with knowing about the version of your Larx from fifteen years in the future.

[Isa just got mad again at the notion that Lea thinks she was trying to turn it into a fight. she was just trying to clarify some things, Lea was the one who got jealous and petty about it.]

I heard stories about that little shitstain.

[ Although if she's thinking about her own Larx, it's probably a shittier time than he deserved. But he brought it on himself by isolating and being a dick. Speaking of, Isa can suck her dick, since she's not here to argue the logistics. Does Apricot want to smell her coffee? It's a nice little morning latte. ]

No offense, but you really got the crap end of the deal. I dunno what she's told you about us, but I can't even remember what it was like before we were bossing each other around.

[Apricot will drink her coffee if she's not careful, but a sniff is also good. Lea's going to be lucky if Isa ever sucks anything again. B( ]

Not a huge amount. I probably have more insight from the games for a lot of things, but not everything went exactly that way for you all.

Right, the games.

[ Apricot can have a little sip when she's done. As a treat. Lea's annoyed again, because the games are a thing, so Axel already knows stuff about her, and that makes her think about his enhanced senses, which is also fuel for annoyance. But really, she just wants an excuse to be mad because Isa is gone and not telling her where she is right this second. ]

Well, whatever. I can't exactly go looking for her in this labyrinth, now can I?

[that gets a warning look. he's still a dweeb, but in the last few years he's also turned into an actual adult who doesn't put up with shit, likely because he's almost the age his older self was when he appeared in the dressing room. he pulls out his phone so he can text Isa and see if she responds to someone who hasn't pissed her off lately.]

I'll see what I can do, but if she's not interested in being around people yet I'm not going to go against that.

[ Leave me alone, I'm emotionally stunted. ): She doesn't really... perk up at that, but she does turn a little to watch Axel, without directly looking at his phone to see whatever he's saying. This is better than nothing, and hopefully Isa will respond! ]

[they're both extremely lucky Isa has her phone on her at all right now, for reasons that will be explained later. in any case, Axel texted something like "lea's here and worried about you", and after only a minute or so his phone buzzes with a response.]

[ If nothing will make her feel better, absolutely dragging Riku will. She had turned back to Apricot for more scritches around the neck, but her head whips back at the notif. ]

Yeah but we don't talk about that, even though everyone knows it's true. Isa says to go home, she'll be there in a little while.

[he's texting back just to ask for himself if she's okay, and gets another immediate response in the form of the "this is fine" image. Isa relates strongly to this meme.]

[ Is it the burning house part? It's the burning house part, isn't it. Lea looks nonplussed. She blinks, then scrunches her face a little. ]

What, really? Is she planning to kick my ass?

[ Why couldn't she have texted Lea herself then?? ]

[Axel shrugs, because he has no idea how girls work. and Isa didn't text Lea because she literally just woke up to Axel's message, and responded to it before checking the missed messages. also uh, she didn't have her phone for part of the night.]

Probably at least a little bit, but that's how love works. In my experience, anyway.

That come with ladies who can and have gone berserk on your ass in the past? And I mean that literally.

[ She doesn't actually think Isa could or would though, she's just saying. The threat of an ass-kicking from Isa is not to be taken lightly. She's gonna down most of the rest of her latte while she thinks. She wanted to find Isa, and know she's okay, and now she's a little upset that she answered Axel but not her. But also, how do they fix this? Something tells her Isa won't be fine with forgetting about it like Lea normally might do. Nothing Is Too Terrible with her friends and all that. ]

[Lea needs to stop being upset before she has all the facts, okay. there's a perfectly good explanation for everything.]

Listen, I don't know if you've ever seen Kai actually get angry about something. I've been on the receiving end of it enough that I've almost learned my lesson. But it doesn't change the fact that I'd move the earth and stars for him.

[ She absolutely deserved most of them. His line of thought seems to make sense with her, and she nods a little in understanding, rolling her head from side to side like she's weighing it. Yeah, sounds about right. But also: ]

Nah, I don't think I've ever seen it the way you're talking about. His royal rages usually came in the heat of battle for me. But I do like how we've all collectively agreed to forget about the whole—

[ She wiggles the free fingers in her coffee hand. ]

[ The amount of burn threats she had to dish out to this kid. Seriously. She downs the rest of her coffee and sits up straight. Prepping for her funeral, it seems. Lea's not actively ignoring the rest of Axel's statement, either. It's just too... sappy for her to address directly. ]

Eh, you had your reasons, and it was so long ago for him.

[he stretches a little where he's sitting and then picks up his mug and gets to his feet, holding out his other hand to help Lea up.]

The fact that he could easily kick your ass now helps a lot, too.

This is less impressive when it's the case back home too.

[ Y'know, without the years of DR experience. But she takes Axel's hand and hauls herself up. It's still weird for her that he's taller. ]
