Hey, I'm an excellent multitasker.

[ She eats salad!! Sometimes. She just happens to like carbs and sugar to make up the majority of her diet. At least she eats fruits, as evident by these grapes she's demolishing now. The turkey leg, picked clean, is set on top of a boulder. ]

[this would be suspicious if i didn't already know what the future may hold. Lea should hang onto that and just fling it at Axel and Kai's house next time she goes by.]

It's true, you can complain and get crumbs everywhere without even getting out of bed.

[now she really does just look fond. Lea seems like the type of kid who would've made big weekend plans before even getting up, and meanwhile her overnight guest is thirteen and wants to know where the goddamn coffee is before you carry on like that.]

[ All of this is true, and looking like that just encourages her. ]

And still save the day. I'm just that awesome.

[ Speaking of the boulder, she's going to break a chunk off of it and pop it into her mouth. ]

[ah, there's the other shoe, finally. or really the first one, i guess. there's a shoe, and it was so nonchalant she almost missed it, AND it's too early in Isa's day for this, so she's just going to accept this as life and toss a bit of turkey gristle so that it lands in Lea's hair.]

I wouldn't go that far. I appreciate you starting me off gently with the actual food that looks like food.

[ She's already laughing while she tries to duck away from it. (She does not succeed.) ]

Why would I pass over the obvious food? Tell me it's not delicious.

[ The boulder is crunchy but easy to get down, and Lea is grinning like an asshole while she eats, casually eating the remaining grapes. She picks up the now bare stem and takes a bite of the leaf, which also makes a crunchy noise. ]

Better than what you're eating.

[you have fun with that, Isa's gonna just stick with the good actual food while eyeing Lea with concern. have you just finally gone off the deep end, bestie.]

You say that like you'd know.

[ The leaf is discarded on the ground by the boulders, along with the grape bunch remnants. She's keeping the remaining breads in her lap, and dusts her hands off. ]

Tell you what, if you can find me a rock that tastes as good as pork, I'll eat as much of it as you want.

[like, legit, that goes for me as well irl. though Isa is peering at that boulder a little more closely to make sure it's not like, made entirely of chocolate.]

[ There's a pause, and then: ]

What if it's not a rock?

[this is the trap Isa falls into every time: Lea's ability to compromise.]

...as long as it's not bugs.

[ The boulder, by the way, is in fact mostly chocolate, although it's not pure smooth chocolate. A lot of it basically a Crunch bar. Anyway, she nods softly. ]

Tree's bacon.

[it's a shame they've come this far in life and can't just trust each other implicitly anymore. Isa looks real suspicious, even as she's setting what's left of her actual food aside and getting to her feet.]

If you're lying to me I'm going to pick you up and carry you until I find a body of water I can throw you into.

Might take a while, in here.

[ Confidence. The tree bark is, in fact, chocolate-covered bacon. Lea is not lying about that at least. ]

[having had chocolate-covered bacon, that's less appealing than just regular bacon, but i admit it was dark chocolate, which isn't at all what you want to balance out the bacon flavor. Isa stalks over to the tree and frowns at it in that way that used to make Demyx automatically hide behind Xigbar. she breaks a little piece of bark off and examines it thoroughly. it doesn't look like bacon, does it smell like bacon?]

That's fine, I got a good long sleep in.

[ Hey now, under the first layer of chocolate-covered bacon is candied bacon, and underneath that it's all pure bacon, packed tightly together but somehow magically fresh and delicious. The tree is bacon, she said! (The leaves are basil.) ]

Is it or is it not bacon?

[that's.... is it cooked underneath? she's not opposed to raw bacon, but. she gives the bit of bark in her hand another tentative sniff and then cautiously bites a corner of it off and is surprised when it does actually seem to be bacon. dammit.]

Looks like you're spared from a watery death for now.

[ Cooked, yes. Some of it's crispy, some of it not so much. All sorts of appealing bacon. Now Lea gets to look smug! ]

Literally everything in here is food. The ground is food. The rocks, the tables, the bowls and spoons and everything.

[now she's waiting for the other shoe to drop. why would a room such as this exist? like... free food, and then bonus free edible everything else? why????]

What's the catch? There has to be one.

[ I mean. She's not wrong... ]

Oh, there is one. It usually waits until I'm done eating. Speaking of...

[ Just gonna casually stroll back over to the tables. Feeling like some chicken kebabs, hmm... ]

[oh god. they're both doomed, and she's going to have to find a lake to put Lea in after all.]

Why are you like this. Should I just leave now and avoid the rush?

[the piece of bacon-bark gets respectfully placed at the foot of the tree it came from, and Isa's returning to her regular food, scowling at Lea.]

Nah, bees are worse. Just follow me when we start running. This is really good, do you want one? There's steak, too.

[ Isa may be wondering: is this revenge for something? It may in fact be, but no, no it's not. She really does come here for food. More than once. ]

[as dry as old bones:]

I remember when the most exciting food we'd ever had was at that steakhouse where they cooked on the table with all the fire.

[she is headed over though, steak sounds good for dessert, since apparently death is coming for them imminently. there are going to be like five options for Isa's mood later; it's like a gashapon but for emotions, and the secret prize will probably be either more kissing or more threats of physical violence. maybe both.]

[ Snackin' on kebabs with my bestie while imminent doom definitely comes for us. Lea couldn't be more thrilled by this outcome, to be honest, and the fact that she can see it affecting Isa's mood is even better. It's like old times! Only because she knows the threat isn't too bad... ]

Oh yeah. I remember thinking how cool that was.

[Lea won't be so thrilled when a single bee shows up and Isa flips completely over into berserk and destroys the entire room. she's honestly gearing up for something moderately serious, based on how nonchalant Lea's being. at the moment Isa's thinking about how finding a hibachi table to throw Lea onto sounds like a better idea than the lake.]

Remember there was that little kid at another table who wouldn't stop crying every time the fire went up?

[easter egg: that child was kate, and this actually happened.]

Barely. I was really focused on the food. And the fire.

[ That's adorable, by the way. Throw her onto a table in... a sexy way?

She would be more urgent if it was more serious than it is, relax!! The kebabs are delicious, though, and Lea is sticking hers into her mouth and taking one of the giant bowls of food to... sort of trickle all of its content into another pile of food. She wants the bowl empty, is what I'm saying. ]
