[it means you're a lazy slob, Lea, and it's lucky that you have a friend who's willing to clean for you. and Lea's welcome to ask for details about the future setup; i'm imagining two weeks in it's still just big adult slumber parties in various places, including Radiant Garden, because at least Ienzo can cook for them. that, or there are like six people sharing an apartment or two either there or in Twilight Town. wherever would be best for this lesbian couple and their two adopted kids.]

[she pockets the phone, and turns to fully face Lea. Isa's just giving her shit as something familiar to do, but there's only so long that can go on before it gets obnoxious.]

[ Probably a combination of all of this. Lea looks flabbergasted, and then drops her hands to her hips, leaning forward to show she means business, or whatever it is them Axels do. ]

[Isa's expression falters slightly and her shoulders tense up, old doubts and insecurities trying to surface. in the time since reforming - the second time - things have been such a whirlwind that she still hadn't adjusted to living normally when she got here, not really. can she even do that anymore? is she allowed to do that?]

[ Lea makes a vague turning motion with her arms, kind of pinwheeling them, slowly. She looks relieved, and thrilled. ]

This place is nothing but space. I just wanted to make sure you were really serious and not... you know...

[ Now she shrugs, embarrassed. ]

Just messing with me. Don't get me wrong. I'm really glad you actually, y'know, like me again, and we're friends. It's just been a while.

[ She didn't want to get her hopes up for real. ]

[dammit, that doesn't help her. and dammit now is not when she wants to get emotional, but there's still adrenaline banging around in her stupid fragile heart, and so much bullshit has happened. honestly this place seems to just be the manifestation of all the jealousy and bitterness she still had, just giving her Lea with no one else tagging along, the way she always wanted it to be during the worst of everything. suddenly Lea's very blurry, and Isa makes a strangled noise and whirls away, one hand over her mouth.]

[ Right, she has a Heart again. Not so easy getting control of things anymore. She can't see Lea's face, but she looks like a deer in headlights, and then a wibbly deer in headlights. ]

[ She's such a weepy loser, fuck. In the caught up timeline Lea was probably a complete disaster on Radiant Garden when Isa showed up, and after. She's gonna reach to take Isa's free hand. ]

[she's trapped in that horrible place where what she needs is to just let every last bit of it out however it wants to come out, and she's the kind of person that refuses to let that happen around other people. it's left her frozen in place, limbs locked up like a dead spider's, but she clutches at Lea's hand. just give her a minute or three, she's trying really hard to stay present and convince herself that this is okay, honestly! it's just that her hair is completely hiding her face, and she may have stopped breathing.]

[ Fortunately her ex-and-now-again best friend is basically a golden retriever, and all she wants to do now is make Isa okay again. Although she understands the need to cry it out, and will probably be right there with her because she's an emotional catastrophe. She's not letting go of her hand, but she does wander a step or two to the side, to try and face her. ]

Isa?

[nope nope nope. it's another long moment before she finally takes a deep, shuddering breath, and lifts her head to look at Lea. her eyes are still damp, but she seems to have mostly gotten her shit together for now, at least externally. internally, Lea would probably be horrified at some of the thoughts whirling around.]

I'm okay.

[no she's not.]

[ Tsk. No one can just lie to her, she sees right through that shit. Most of the time. When she cares. She stares right at Isa's face, particularly the eyes, long enough to be uncomfortable. Then she moves, forcing herself on Isa in a hug. ]

No you're not. But you'll get there.

[why u do dis, Lea. some of those very bad thoughts include "maybe Xemnas was onto something with that whole 'hearts are just pain' melodrama" and "why were we all trying so hard to get this back". but it's just been a long stressful rollercoaster of a day and she's still tired. she goes rigid again for a second when Lea hugs her, and then sighs and goes limp against her. Lea does good hugs for such a pointy person.]

Tell me this evens out eventually. There's not a handbook for this somewhere around here, is there?

[ She's not letting go until Isa gets pushy. You are now warned. ]

All of it. And if it was just you on the beach it would be another matter entirely. It's easy to forget that you're used to not having a heart when you're goofing around with a bunch of friends.

[most of this is grumbled over Lea's shoulder in a gloomy tone. Isa's getting complainy and morose, which is a sure sign that she needs to be put to bed. she can have a decent cry to herself in the shower in the morning, that'll help too.]

Yeah. You're right, it is. Then it hits you all at once, right?

[ She knows. It's not the same, not the same trauma or ways they spent their years. But she knows how that felt, and it's close. She reluctantly lets go, but she doesn't pull away further than she has to to see Isa's face. ]

[Isa's face looks tired and grumpy, her scar crinkled slightly between her eyebrows. but she manages a brief little smile, because it does feel nice to have someone worrying over her, and it's still kind of a novelty seeing Lea's dumb face without them being on opposite sides.]

Yeah, it sucks. One out of five, very awful, can't recommend.

[ This is still a lot for Lea, and she'll probably blow up in her typical fashion for trying to cope with things she's not sure how to deal with, but that'll be later. Right now she is to worried about Isa. She stares into her eyes a little longer, then straightens up. ]

I missed your jokes. You look like you need to rest. We can watch something if you wanna sit down for a while, or go back to bed?

Sleep sounds good. I'd fall asleep on you for anything else, then you'd have to carry me again.

[at some point their crying fits will have to sync up, just by the laws of probability. that, and/or i foresee impulsive kissing or hissy fits in the future. right now though, Isa's just being dead weight to be a nuisance. get me some jammies, mom.]

[ There's just a clothes rack and an open trunk somewhere in her bedroom, and both of them are a disaster. What does she want, a big t-shirt for sleeping, or a thin tank top? Lea doesn't believe in proper pajamas, except for fun, patterned pj bottoms.
