So whaddaya wanna do after we eat?

[no? i eat it over the sink so it doesn't make a mess that i then have to clean up.

Isa considers this question for a minute while she finishes her tomatoes.]

Dunno. It's after dark, so it's probably not the best time for you to take me on a tour of this place.

Doesn't matter too much with the weird rooms this place has, but I guess you're right.

[ Couldn't walk around outside and see a whole lot. It certainly wouldn't work for showing someone their way around. So. What? They sit inside and talk? She's anxious to find something to keep herself busy, once the food is gone. She might be trying to prolong it by taking a long sip of coffee. ]

[if she knew Lea was feeling that way, she'd probably confront her about it, because yeah, this is all weird, but they've had weird before. as it is, she's detecting a little bit of that anxiety. Lea can do a lot of things, but completely hiding what she's feeling isn't one of them. Isa's not sure what to do about it either, though.]

Tell me more about this place, then. You mentioned spells?

[ God, please. She's anxious over a variety of things, of various degrees of seriousness, and should probably talk about it but also recognizes how weird the situation is and just... she hasn't had the buildup of post-KH3 Lea, or the time to cope. How do thinking and feeling. As she stabs another sausage with her fork: ]

Right. Well, sometimes magic spells just happen. They can affect everybody, or only half, or only one person. This place feels like it's alive sometimes, and random things will just happen to people. Think like... everyone grows cat ears, or you're stuck under mistletoe thanks to magical barriers. Around Halloween the place gives everyone costumes or transforms them, somehow.

[ She leans back against the bed and looks at Isa seriously. This is a good theory. ]

I think it's gotta have something to do with the worlds, because doesn't that sound like Halloween Town to you?

[Isa frowns, mulling this over while she chews a bite of grilled cheese. she's trying to remember details from mission reports, but so much has happened since then.]

Maybe... but it sounds more like the clothes Sora had, that changed her physically in the different worlds. Nothing ever happened to us when we went to the worlds, unless it was left out of reports for some reason.

Yeah, nothing happened to me before this place. But if I go there now everything changes. You should see it.

[ She shrugs, both hands up in the air. ]

[now i'm wondering if the clothes Lea and Kairi got from Yen Sid are magic the way Sora's are. but anyway, HT would absolutely just turn Isa into an actual werewolf after all this, probably. too bad they aren't allowed to go there until we get back to that other thread that's there right now.

[ Shhh we'll get there. It's fine. Also they probably are magic, why the hell else would they take so long. ]

[ She points to herself, the remaining half of grilled cheese hanging from her mouth. ]

Yes, you. Is it just a wardrobe change or do you physically change? Our future exploration depends on how cool you make it sound.

[so classy, Lea. time for Isa to sip her coffee, now that her plate is clean and set off to one side (though still on the bed).]

[ She makes a face that is going for nonchalant, but probably only makes Isa look more curious. The remaining sandwich gets devoured in two bites, finishing off her plate, and then she reaches for her own coffee. ]

Both. It's a demon, sort of. I tried to take a picture and my phone exploded.

Hmm.

[Isa has lots of variations on "hmm," and Lea may or may not remember some of the subtleties of them at this point. this one was usually a precursor to something idiotic (but also really fun in a scary way) like trying to sneak into the castle to try and save a guy who didn't even know his own name.]

But hey, it was back by the time I got home!

[ She's leaving out the finer details of her costume, it sounds like. ]

I'm sure you'll see it on the way tomorrow, right?

We could go tonight, if you want. Isn't it always nighttime there anyway?

[she's actually pretty ambivalent about the notion of exploring, right now. she'd be just as happy staying here and ~~making out~~ talking more, or idk, watching something, or whatever it is people usually do when they hang out irl and are friends. getting clothes that aren't stupid should probably be on the agenda at some point, but Isa certainly won't think of that.]

[ Don't look at her. Lea's fashion sense is terrible. She would never call Isa's dumb outfit stupid. She looks unsurprised that Isa's suggesting a nighttime Halloween Town visit, after that. ]

That figures. You get here and the first thing you do after a nap is try to pull me out of my luxurious apartment. That's fine, I get it.

[ The sarcasm is just dripping out of her, and it's obvious by the way she's grinning behind the coffee mug. ]

Yes, well, the fact that you have to be dragged out just means it needs to be done more often.

[you're off the hook (for now) re: those things that should probably be talked about. Isa chugs the rest of her coffee, sets the mug neatly on her plate, and starts trying to untangle herself from this very comfortable bed. she's gotta pee and find her shoes and sort out her hair before they can go anywhere. the bathroom's the only thing actually closed off with a door in here, right?]

[ That is correct. Lea looks surprised, and mildly concerned about where this may be going, if they're actually going. Aw man, and she'd done such a good job of avoiding showing off her 'costume'. ]

What? You really wanna go?

[she makes a big show once she's standing of stretching her arms over her head, fingers laced together, and glances sidelong at Lea.]

Unless you'd rather we keep talking and bouncing off of topics that make you anxious. Now that you mention it, that does sound like a good time.

Wh— Excuse you. Who's anxious?

[ To show how not anxious she is, she'll stand up and take her plate and mug off to the sink and away from this inappropriate display. Look how normal she is. She's not anxious at all! ]

[pff. what if Isa gets her own dishes and follows Lea to the kitchen, and sets them on the counter by the sink before getting Lea in a solid but brief bear hug from behind? laying down hugs aren't anything like standing up hugs, after all, or sitting hugs. stop being so anxious, friend. it'll be okay.]

[ She will be surprised and briefly shocked, but mostly it turns into delight. She will not get over Isa being huggable and will take full advantage of every opportunity for hugs, just in case some bullshit ever happens again. ]

Just give me a minute in the bathroom and then we can go.

[she'll go do that, then, and return with tidier hair, although hers never gets as wild from sleeping as Lea's does. she'll also sit on the couch for a second to get her shoes back on.]

[ That's all fine as long as she avoids the bedroom, where Lea is getting changed. She was in lounge pants and a comfortable tanktop before, but now she's changing into some black jeans and a t-shirt and probably some kind of loose jacket. It's chilly in Halloween Town, not that it'll matter.

She's also totally forgotten about her hair, please don't let her leave like this. ]

[i mean. it's probably nothing she hasn't seen before, at some point. but no, she's not anywhere near the bedroom, and will be parked on the couch still when Lea reappears, picking at a loose thread on the bottom of her own long jacket. she looks up, and snorts.]
